When will I get my effing candles?

Processing time (how long it takes your order to leave our shipping facility) is one to three business days. Orders will then spend three to five business days in transit. Shipping timelines are not guaranteed by any shipping carriers. Orders are not considered lost in transit until the tracking information has not updated for 15+ days.

What happens if my order arrives broken or damaged?

We've shipped over 10,000 orders and take great care to ensure your order arrives safely, but things can happen in transit.

If your product arrives damaged or broken, our carriers & shippers require photo documentation for reimbursement & quality control. In order to file a claim, we will need a photo of the damaged product(s), the exterior AND interior of the box, including the shipping materials. These photos must be well-lit, clear, and show the damage. When reaching out, please specify the item(s) that were damaged and whether you would like a replacement or a refund.

Damaged goods must be reported within 10 days of delivery so that we can file a claim with the shipping carrier. It is the customer's responsibility to open and inspect items upon delivery. Damaged orders that have passed the claims period will not be refunded or replaced.

Are candles suitable for pets?

Candles are safe to burn around pets. If you have specific questions about candles and your pet, please reach out to your veterinarian.

Do the candles burn cleanly and evenly?

When cared for properly, Effing Candle Co.'s candles will burn cleanly. If the wick is properly trimmed, our candles will not produce soot or smoke. Wicks should be trimmed to 1/8" before each and every burn. If the flame on your candle is larger than 1/2", the wick is too long, which is dangerous and will impact your candle's performance.

Candle Care

Trimming the wick before every burn will help you get the most burn time possible out of your candles. Wicks should be 1/8". If the flame on your candle is larger than 1/2", the wick is too long.

You don't need a fancy wick trimmer (you can use a nail clipper in a pinch) but these are a great home fragrance accessory to have around!
